This current version, 14, does require payment, but a huge selection of user-generated content can be downloaded for free from the Workshop on Steam. With this mod, the creative possibilities are endless and well worth the time and cost of the download. This online sandbox lets players create just about any type of game mode they want and share through literally thousands of servers that are available. This mod makes the words “impossible” and “no” non-existent.
Anything you can think of, you can probably do on this latest version of Garry’s Mod. Create missions, short online video films, constructions, the list is basically endless. For those that have little to no experience in computers or programming, this mod might be just what you are looking for.
You can download free add-ons, maps and mods that have been created by other users. Access online servers that are packed with mini games and endless possibilities. Race go-karts, play soccer, play a role-playing game, do just about anything you can possible imagine. Probably the only drawback to this mod is that it is created on the Source Engine and the graphics are pretty outdated. However, it will still work very well on your computer. Besides, if the new Garry’s Mod had better graphics, it would probably slow to a crawl as soon as you installed the add-on. It does take a little time to understand the interface for Garry’s Mod, but once you do, you will see that the effort in learning it is well worth it.
