Google Translator, Web Translation, and ImTranslator for Firefox give you the chance to see translations of many different types of text that you encounter while browsing the internet. IMTranslator, for example, translates text instantaneously, giving you the opportunity to chat with people whose native tongues are different from your own. This is especially useful for keeping in touch with those whom you meet in your travels. With Web Translation, entire pages can be translated before your eyes, and all you need to do is move your cursor over what you want translated. If you want to see parts of a page translated, you can use the Pop-Up Bubble, which will show the text in your preferred language without requiring you to leave the page.
There are several features included in these extensions that make them superior to many alternatives. For example, idiomatic expressions in eight languages, including English and Spanish, are translated properly. This goes a long way toward limiting misunderstandings. There is also a virtual keyboard that enables you to type in several of the supported languages, including but not limited to Farsi, Irish, Russian, and Ukrainian. Translations are available in sixty-six languages, and you can hear texts vocalized in twenty-six of them. The program also detects languages automatically, so you need not try to discern in which language text is written.
