Visual FoxPro is an object-oriented programming language that was developed by Microsoft and has since been discontinued, with the latest release in 2007. Visual FoxPro works with the Microsoft Windows Operating System and was designed for use with Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP. Certain versions of Visual FoxPro can also with the Apple Mac Operating System. Visual FoxPro is available in a handful of languages as an IDE and a Runtime program.
Visual FoxPro began life as an xBase language, which is similar to the dBASE set of programming languages. Visual FoxPro is a feature-rich, fully functional data-centric programming language that comes with its own extensive database. It is a dynamic programming language, which means it does not need to be used in conjunction with any other languages or programming environments. Visual FoxPro received mix reviews during its release, with rise and falls in its popularity before it was eventually discontinued after it dropped out of the top 50 list of favored programming languages.
Visual FoxPro uses commands similar to the MS BASIC language and is fairly straightforward for movies to learn.
