SymbolicLinker for Mac is a small contextual service that allows any user to create symbolic links to files inside the Finder. It does this by adding a contextual-menu item to the Finder that generates symbolic links to the selected files. The goal of this product is to decrease users’ trips to the Terminal to use the “ln -s” command. The internals of the plugin has been re-written to be more atomic in dealing with file systems and not to use APIs that Apple deprecated long ago. SymbolicLinker has gone with a Dutch localization. SymbolicLinker for Mac is a lightweight service that, once installed, allows any user to create symbolic links to files inside the Finder. It still adds a Make Symbolic Link command to the Finder’s contextual menus. (In 10.5, the command is in the More submenu; in all other versions of OS X, it is at the root level of the menu.) Just right-click or Control-click on an item in the Finder, select the Make Symbolic Link option, and a link to that file is created. The new version of SymbolicLinker is now compatible with MacOS 10.12. Moreover, the old CM plugin for OS X 10.5 and earlier users has been removed. If you are still using a version of Mac OS X earlier than 10.6, you will need to download the previous release of SymbolicLinker to enjoy the service fully.
