In this RPG, you play as the character Isaac and have to help him escape his pending doom. After your mother receives a message from God demanding a sacrifice, she locks Isaac in the basement. However, the basement is much more than it appears as you soon discover horrific creatures, siblings you were not aware of, and finally, your mother. The Binding of Isaac has you adventuring through randomly created dungeons with various enemies.
This feature makes each session new, without playing the same game twice. You can find over 100 power-up items as you explore. The game consists of four separate chapters with each having eight levels. There are over 50 different types of enemies you will have faced, along with some pretty tough bosses. Include the unlockable content, and The Binding of Isaacs replayability become enormous.
The controls are basic, WASD buttons, and the arrow buttons serve as the direction fire. What do you use for weapons? Tears. Yep, your character uses his tears to slay monsters. And, the more he cries, the more powerful his attacks become. For visuals, The Binding of Isaac mixes mature content with cartoonish graphics, making for an odd experience. The ominous audio gives the game a dark feel and mixes nicely with the tone of the game. With a twisted storyline and old-school controls, The Binding of Isaac is an awesome, and addictive game.
