Titanfall 2 offers customization, fast-paced gameplay, and Titan combat.

It was just a couple of years ago that rumors of a Call of Duty killer made the rounds. Respawn Entertainment, a developer made up of many former popular CoD developers, was putting together a little game called Titanfall. The game was a first person shooter that had a very smooth gameplay style, along with wall running and double jumping. It was possible to chain moves together to get around the maps quickly and easily. Of course, that wasn’t the main draw. In this game, you could also call down a Titan, a giant robot that you could get into and pilot, which would change up the gameplay significantly.

The game received a lot of attention and hype, and it sold well. However, the depth of content simply wasn’t there for many players, and they lamented that there were very few challenges to go for. In addition, there were few weapons and virtually no customization options. The gameplay was fantastic, but there was no depth. There wasn’t a traditional single player campaign either. Many felt this was a big omission. While it was fun, it faded after just a few weeks except for truly dedicated players.

Titanfall 2 Makes Changes

The developers knew that they didn’t want to make the same mistakes as their first time out. They had a solid game. It just needed a little bit more to make the game have more of a lasting appeal.

They’ve put in a substantial amount of work to allow for more customization of the pilots as well as the titans, and those are some welcome improvements. They’ve added some interesting gadgets as well. One of the most popular amongst those who have played the game early in the tech test and behind closed doors has been the grappling hook.

This hook can help you to get around the map even faster, and it can help you get to some out of the way areas. In addition, you can even use the hook as a weapon. This is only one of the new gadgets that you can use. Even though the technical alpha is up and people on console are playing, they are keeping many of these new items close to the vest. They want to wait until the game releases to show their full hand.

The gameplay is quite similar to the first game, although there are some notable differences in the way the game feels and plays. You can expect a variety of different multiplayer game modes when it launches including modes such as Pilot vs. Pilot, Amped Hardpoint, and Attrition.

The Single Player Campaign

Most people are very happy that they decided to add a proper single player campaign to Titanfall 2. It provides a cinematic shooter experience with some interesting pacing. You will get to learn more about the world and the inhabitants, as well as the Titans – including the bond between Titan and pilot. You will get to be creative in battle and tackle different objectives in the way that works best for your style.

Keep in mind that some of the developers at Respawn made some of the most beloved campaigns in the genre when they worked on Call of Duty games. It will be very interesting to see exactly what they can do with the campaign for Titanfall 2.

Check Out Titanfall 2

The game has a lot of promise, and even though it is releasing in a crowded fall, there is a good pedigree behind it. The technical test held in late August has proven to be a success, showing that the servers can handle the game, and that the matchmaking is quite fast.

If you liked the first Titanfall, you will want to check out Titanfall 2. Even those who didn’t play the first game will want to check it out, even if it is only for the single player campaign.
