The COM file is an executable file that can be run using the Microsoft DOS Operating System.
The file is similar to the common EXE filetype and, like an EXE file, is saved in a binary format. A COM file has a smaller capacity than an EXE file, with a maximum allowance of 64KB and, unlike an EXE file, it contains no metadata.
