World of Warcraft is an MMORPG game, which stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. It is developed by Blizzard Entertainment and was first released in 2004, which new expansions being released on a regular basis (the most recent of which was Mists of Pandaria in September 2012).
World of Warcraft has millions of subscribers and is the most popular MMORPG in the world, with a large fan bases in Europe, the US and Asia. World of Warcraft was the biggest selling PC game in both 2005 and 2006 and, although the popularity has decreased somewhat over the last few years, the game is still played and adored by millions.
In World of Warcraft players pick a chariest from a number of different races and choose to align with one of two factions, either the Alliance or the Horde. Each playable race has a different homestead or starting location, and the Horde and Alliance factions start and play the game in completely different worlds, coming together in major cities, ports and for PvP battles, arena battles and “Raids” (when one faction raids the town or city of another faction).
