Blizzard has been on a roll as of late. With fantastic games such as Hearthstone and the shooter Overwatch added to their roster, the company has continued to solidify their place in gaming history as one of the best. Now, they are adding to their beloved World of Warcraft franchise, and fans are very excited about this new content called Legion.
What’s the Story of Legion?
In Legion, Azeroth is under siege when the Burning Legion arrives. The invasion is a call to arms for the heroes of the land who need to take up arms, including ancient artifacts, as a means to quell the invaders. In addition, there is a new group available for players – the Demon Hunters.
Players will be able to battle all the way up to level 110. You can play with a hero that you’ve already created or have a brand new character, you can boost all the way to level 100 so you are ready for anything the game throws at you. Find other heroes and take on the demonic invaders together. There are plenty of new places to explore including locales such as the Emerald Nightmare, Helheim, and the remains of the civilization of the once powerful night elves. You will have an entire new continent – the Broken Isles – to explore.
There are class halls specifically for your class, plenty of new dungeons and raids, bosses, and much more all with the standard edition.
The Demon Hunter
You will discover a brand new hero class as well, which looks like it will be quite a bit of fun to play. The Demon Hunter is an outcast, pushed out of the elven tribes because of their ability to use the eldritch powers of the Legion. They have three special abilities – Spectral Sight, Metamorphosis, and Unrivaled Mobility.
The Spectral Sight ability can allow the Demon Hunter to find enemies even if they are hiding. Demon Hunters can also transform into demonic creatures, which gives them a boost to their powers. Hunters who focus on offense will become more powerful, and those who focus on defense will become very difficult to kill. The Demon Hunters also have the ability to double jump, which makes it possible to get into and out of combat quickly and easily. They have wings that can help them to glide, which provides them with even more mobility.
Interesting New Artifacts
Of course, there are also a number of artifacts that you will be able to wield while playing World of Warcraft Legion – Standard Edition. These items include a two-handed paladin sword called Ashbringer, the Maw of the Damned, which is a Death Knight two-handed axe, and the mage staff called Ebonchill is sure to please the spell slingers in the group. Two of the other artifacts include Sheilun, the Staff of the Mists, which is a Monk staff, and the Hunter Bow called Thas’Dorah, Legacy of the Windrunners. There are plenty of options to keep everyone happy no matter how long you have been playing your character.
New Characters
As you would expect, World of Warcraft Legion – Standard Edition also has quite a few interesting characters to meet and interact with. Some of them include Maiev Shadowsong, Xavius, Anduin Wrynn, Tidemistress Athissa, Genn Greymane, Dargrul the Underking, Khadgar, Gul’Dan, Sylvanas Windrunner, and Ilidan Stormrage.
The characters you meet are certainly one of the reasons that people love this game. While they love the PvP (which has been redone), they also love the idea of taking part in these quests and raids in a fun and fully fleshed out fantasy world.
Great for New and Old Players Alike
If you have been away from World of Warcraft for a while, or if you still play each day, Legion is going to provide you with something special and new that you can sink your teeth into. It’s a PC only game, naturally, and if you are able to run World of Warcraft, you should not have any trouble running the Legion expansion.
