From time to time we select a software we like and interview the developer or team behind it. It allows our users to grasp the qualities of the software and the developer/team. Please welcome Iris Lee who will talk about M4VGear!.

What is your title/job description?

Product Manager

How did you come to creating this software?

iTunes users have the needs for getting full control of their purchased movies. They want more choices on display, access or backup of their own movies. (You can see complains about iTunes movies on

With the popularity of HD movie and HD compatible devices, owning and backing up a collection of HD DRM movies will not be a rare thing. In this case, when striping DRM, users will emphasis on the speed as well as the lossless output. There should be a tool that can achieve this purpose in simplest way.

What are the key benefits of the software compare with alternatives?

The most competitive advantages will be high conversion speed and lossless output quality. A few converters will get nice output quality, but there is hardly anyone can achieve them both. M4VGear is the first one, and currently the only one product that can decrypt iTunes movies at high speed and with 0 quality loss.

M4VGear adopts decoder that can optimize computer CPU running while video processing, thus supports stripping DRM from iTunes video with 20X shorter time than the original video duration yet retaining video quality, subtitles, audio tracks, artworks and all other data as original.

Where do you see the software 2 years from now?

In the near future, we are going to improve the output compatibility with more hardware and software, so that to fulfill users' needs for enjoying movie via more portable devices and home theatre devices. At the same time, we will explore the possibility for retaining 5.1 surround audio, and the possibility for decrypting other DRM-ed videos from sources like Amazon Instant Video, Windows Media Centre, Zune Marketplace, BBC iPlayer, Xbox Live Store, LimeWire, uTorrent, FrostWire and more.

Thanks a lot Iris!
